Vivat Victoria Tomato
Bred and selected by celebrated Russian breeder Sofia Saakova (Stavropol, Russia), Vivat Victoria (Виват Виктории / Vivat Victoria) is a striking, open pollinated (future heirloom) heart shaped cultivar. Celebrated for its rich "marmalade like" texture and intricate colouration, it produces broad, conical oxheart fruits adorned with vivid green, purple, and anthocyanin striping.
Breeder & Origin: Sofia Saakova, Stavropol, Russia.
Parentage & Lineage: Developed as a stabilised selection directly from Saakova's famous variety Victoria's Salute (Салют Виктории / Salut Viktorii). While the original Victoria's Salute produces elongated, blunt nosed hearts, Vivat Victoria was isolated and fixed for its wider, broad conical heart shape while retaining the signature anthocyanin striping and fruity spicy flavour profile.
Fruit Shape: Large, broad conical heart to blunt nosed oxheart shape with a delicate blossom end tip
Fruit Weight: 160g to 300g
Skin Colour: Deep burgundy cherry base covered in dark purple and olive green vertical stripes, crowned with dense indigo black anthocyanin shoulders where exposed to sunlight
Flesh & Taste: Thick, marmalade like interior texture that is rich and juicy without being watery. Features a fruit foremost flavour profile combining intense sweetness with delicate spicy and tropical notes
Plant Habit: Indeterminate (vining), caging stringing or staking is required. Grows well both undercover and outdoors
Foliage Type: Regular leaf, stout and vigorous vine structure
Plant Height: 1.8m to 2.0m
Maturity: Mid/early season, around 115 days from seed sowing to ripe fruit
Yield & Resilience: High productivity; demonstrates strong field resistance to temperature fluctuations and common foliar diseases, setting heavy clusters consistently through late summer
