Sofia's Purple Apple Tomato
Bred by celebrated Russian tomato breeder Sofia Saakova (Stavropol, Russia), Sofia's Purple Apple (Fioletovoye Yabloko Sofii / Фиолетовое яблоко Софии / Пурпурное яблоко Софии) is a striking, highly productive anthocyanin pigmented beefsteak variety. Prized for both its stunning looks and it's fabulous flavour, it lives up to its name with deep purple tones and a distinct fruity, spicy apple flavour profile.
Fruit Shape: Oblate to flattened round beefsteak with gentle shoulder ribbing
Fruit Weight: 150g to 300g
Skin Coloru: Deep raspberry purple to burgundy base accented by subtle dark striping and a heavy indigo/black anthocyanin cap across the shoulders.
Flesh & Taste: Dense, meaty, and exceptionally aromatic. Rich and sweet with a well balanced acidity and distinct, complex fruity/spicy apple undertones.
