Plumbrella Yellow Micro Dwarf Tomato (10-15 seeds)
The 'Plumbrella Yellow' is a popular and well-designed micro dwarf tomato variety, known for its unique shape and excellent suitability for container growing.
Origin/Breeder: The original 'Plumbrella' series of patio tomatoes was developed by Hem Genetics B.V. in The Netherlands. It was initially released as an F1 hybrid.
Plant Size: It is a natural dwarf with a very compact, bushy habit, typically reaching a height of only 30 to 35 cm, this makes it perfect for small pots and tabletops.
Fruit Colour: As the name suggests, it produces bright yellow fruits.
Fruit Size & Shape: This is a distinguishing feature, it produces plum-shaped or elongated cherry tomatoes with a slightly pointed end, rather than the typical round cherry shape. The fruits are mid-sized for a micro dwarf cherry.
Flavour: The flavour is mildly sweet with low or little acidity, making it a pleasant and juicy snack tomato.
Growth Habit: It is a determinate (bush) variety. The plant habit is specifically designed to have the fruit developing above the leaves, spreading like a "blanket" (hence the "Plumbrella" name), which makes the fruit easy to see and pick.
Low Maintenance: Its natural dwarf habit means it requires no pruning, staking, or support, making it one of the easiest varieties for tight spaces. If support is required, a couple of very small canes will suffice.
Maturity: It is an early producer, typically ready to harvest in 95 to 100 days from the time you sow the seeds.
Small Containers: Ideal for tiny pots, typically around 1 to 2 litres, on kitchen counters, windowsills, or patios.
Heat Tolerance: The original 'Plumbrella' series is noted for being heat tolerant, which is a benefit for summer growing or warm indoor environments.
