Flavour Grenade Tomato
'Flavour Grenade' (listed over the pond as Flavor Grenade) is a recently released, open pollinated variety developed by Brad Gates at Wild Boar Farms in Northern California.
Origin & Breeding: A unique cross stabilised from the line Tim’s Taste of Paradise.
Fruit Description: Large cherry tomato, approximately 1 inch across, but shaped like a mini beefsteak.
Colour Profile: Features deep indigo black anthocyanin shoulders that blend into a fiery red base with gold and anthocyanin striping.
Flavour Profile: Very strong, assertive, and complex flavour - rather superb.
Growth Habit & Yield: Indeterminate to around 190cm, highly productive, with a mid season maturity of around 120 days from seed sowing.
Harvesting Tip: Tastes best when harvested as soon as it ripens, unlike some other Wild Boar varieties that hold well on the vine when very ripe.
