Belle Amitie Tomato
Belle Amitié (French for "Beautiful Friendship") is a striking, open pollinated (future heirlom) discovery and collaborative release. Known for its distinct marbled aesthetic, it yields round to slightly oblate, large tomatoes painted with rich orange, gold, and vibrant pinkish red marbling.
Breeders & Collaborators: Developed and selected through a cross border collaboration between Safta Markos (a collector/grower in Romania) and Bruno Huyghe (a prominent French tomato breeder and preservationist)
Origin & Selection: The variety first emerged as a split in Romania in the garden of Safta Markos. It appeared while growing out a strain of Kozula 133 seeds that Bruno Huyghe had brought to Romania during a visit
Parentage & Lineage: Derived directly as a split selection from Kozula 133 (a cross originally bred by renowned Polish breeder Anna Jankowska, aka "Kozula," involving Malinowy x Kozula lines)
Name Origin: Safta Markos and Bruno Huyghe named the stabilised variety Belle Amitié (Beautiful Friendship) to honour their friendship and shared seed saving partnership across France and Romania

Skin Color: Gorgeous golden orange base swirled with broad pinkish red and crimson marbling and streaks.
Flesh & Taste: Fleshy, bicoloured interior (orange marbled with pink/red). Offers a sweet, delicate, and complex fruity flavour profile with soft acidity, making it an exceptional slicing tomato for fresh salads.
